Château De Montifaud Napoléon 18 Year Old Petite Champagne Cognac is a true masterpiece that encapsulates the heritage of the Vallet family, custodians of Château Montifaud for six remarkable generations. The journey of this exquisite Cognac begins in 1837 when Augustin Vallet planted the first vines. Through the years, the torch was passed from father to son, with Pierre, Maurice, Louis, and Michel each contributing to the legacy. In October 2000, Laurent joined his father and grandfather, upholding the cherished family tradition. This tradition dictates that when a son joins his father, a portion of the Cognac distilled that year is carefully set aside, to be enjoyed only by future generations.
Today, within the family's 'Paradise' cellar, rest bottles of Cognac meticulously crafted by Pierre and Maurice Vallet. The vineyard sprawls across 75 hectares, nestled in the premier subregions of Cognac production, the 'Grande' and the 'Petite' Champagne. Situated in the Charente, this region, distinct from the sparkling wine territories further east, is located close to the Atlantic and north of Bordeaux. Throughout the Cognac-making process, from production and distillation to aging, Château Montifaud upholds the time-honoured craftsmanship and skills passed down through generations.
